Frequently Asked Questions
What Clients Often Ask Before Starting Therapy
Do you accept insurance?
Right now, Conscious Connections Therapy is in the process of getting credentialed with major insurance companies (yay, paperwork!). In the meantime, we’re considered an out-of-network provider and currently accept cash pay.
If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, we can provide you with a Superbill (a fancy term for a therapy receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Just a heads up—we can’t guarantee reimbursement, and the full session fee is due at the time of service. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if you have out-of-network coverage and what percentage they’ll reimburse after your deductible is met.
What are your rates for therapy?
We offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can get a feel for the vibe and ask any questions before committing. After that, here’s our current pricing:
60-minute session:
$175 with an LCSW
$100 with an ASW (Associate Social Worker under LCSW supervision)
90-minute session:
$225 with an LCSW
$150 with an ASW
All rates are private pay or out-of-network.
Do you offer services in-person?
At this time, all sessions are offered via secure telehealth (aka, therapy from your couch or car—no judgment). We’re hoping to expand to offer in-person sessions in the future, so stay tuned!.
What’s the difference between an LCSW and an ASW?
Great question! An LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is fully licensed and independently practices therapy. An ASW (Associate Social Worker) is a pre-licensed clinician who is gaining supervised experience and works under the guidance of an LCSW. Both are trained and passionate about helping people—working with an ASW is also a great, more affordable option.
Do you work with clients outside of California?
We love our out-of-state folks, but at this time we only work with clients physically located in California
How do I schedule a consultation?
Super simple! Just head over to our complimentary consultation page, find a day and time on the calendar that works for you, and schedule it right there. You’ll get a confirmation email with all the details. No back-and-forth emails—just pick your time and we’ll be ready to connect

A: Think of our first sessions as conversations, not interrogations. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you here, what’s been hard, and what you hope to feel different. You don’t have to have all the answers — we’ll figure it out together, at your pace.s here

A: That’s completely normal. Many of my clients are the go-to people in their families, at work, or in their friend groups. Therapy can feel like a new muscle at first, but my job is to create a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to carry it all. You get to just be you here.
-
A: You don’t have to hit rock bottom to benefit from therapy. Stress, overwhelm, parenting struggles, or just wanting to feel more grounded are all valid reasons to seek support. If it matters to you, it matters in this space.cription text goes here

A: That’s completely okay — it’s actually a sign you’re letting yourself be real. Tears, laughter, silence, frustration… they’re all welcome here. Therapy is one of the few places where you don’t have to censor yourself.
-
A: Many of my clients meet weekly, but biweekly or flexible scheduling can also work. We can create a plan that feels sustainable. If you’re using out-of-network benefits, I provide superbills to help with reimbursement. Investing in your mental health is just that — an investment in yourself.
-
A: Finding the right therapist fit matters. If after a couple sessions it doesn’t feel right, I’ll support you in finding someone who’s a better match. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and you deserve to work with someone who feels like a good fit.

A: Yes. Research shows telehealth therapy is just as effective, and many clients actually prefer it — it saves time, fits into busy schedules, and allows you to meet from the comfort of your home (yes, pajamas are welcome).
